H O L L Y

Heaven made nature's bright

Only in the South

Lives the Savanah holly

Loving winter in front

Yards—yours and mine

One Single Impression: Wanderlust

A Wandering Soul
and His Motorcycle

Climbed on his trike and rode away
to the corner spot where kids played
Followed him there to watch him play
Mom sure did not want him to stray

Hopped on his bike and rode away
just a young boy needs some escape
Mother knew he'd back be back today
The other kids will want to play

Hopped on his bike and rode away
can't be twenty-four-hour dad
Young mom of two knows he won't stay
Has kids waiting for him to play

Hopped on his bike and rode away
long time married man needs some air
Sweetie knows he's not far away
Sure he'll be home another day

Climbed on his bike and rode away
Oregon calls this time's the last
Wet spot spill ambulance to pay
Won't be back for many a day

Got his bike and took it away
to the scrap yard those boys must go
And take whatever they will pay
Riding is through no other day

A wandering soul you would say
domestication flight is joy
Hoping to make it every day
Freedom's just a bike ride away

Acrostic: Christmas

C H R I S T M A S

Christ was born on this day

He came God's only Son

Repent and trust in Him

I tell you He loves you

Sins for which we should die

Trusting in Him you must

Make Him your redeemer

Ask He'll pay your ransom

Saving you from your sin

One Single Impression: Junction

Billie and Joey

Billie and Joey were joined at their waist;
never was found one without the other.
Billie was always happy no matter,
it seems she'd always wanted a brother.

Billie liked to be alone with Joey.
Her love was for her two year-old brother.
A language of their own they would speak;
Joey never would talk with his mother.

Becoming three it seemed there was no hope.
The doctors said they'd seen sight this before.
Billie was always happy no matter;
praying Mother asked for better by four.

Then came the day a new lad came along.
He had eyes of blue, was tall like her dad.
Joey, silent as before, said he'd go.
His being was only in Billie's head.

Acrostic: Pole Dancer – An Acrostic Short Story

POLE DANCER
... (Acrostic story)

Pouting and late for work that evening, Missy Brilliant Star adjusted her makeup in the car. Responding to a hateful honk, although usually she'd honk in return to make her day, tonight our Missy Star gave a little one finger wave instead.

One finger waving she had learned from her uncle. The one who taught her to dance. He taught her to dance as if she were entwined around a pole. She had a make believe fireman's practice pole left over from when her brother was a youngster.

Lighting on the stage seemed unusually bad than night. The spots had long lost their color, the dimmer was stuck in the on position, and half the bulbs didn't light. Nevertheless Missy Star would go on. Go on just the two, she and the bitch in the little red skirt.

Everyone loved the little red skirt. Missy Star always called it a dress; to do otherwise might go the red b's head. Now Miss B did have a name to her acclaim though Missy Star never did use that. Miss B could do the contortions, bump and grind, real fine. But when it came to the pole, Missy Star was the queen.

Dance tonight she would do her best. Her best with the lingering pout. Not even the b in red could do her in tonight. For it had been rumored that a very special guest was to arrive around ten.

Around half past seven Missy Star became a little queasy in the gills. What was a gill she wasn't quite sure but people always said they would turn green with nerves. O dear!

Nervous she was. What if Mr. Wonderful didn't show? Worse yet, what if he didn't recognize her. Or, Heaven forbid, he could like the b in red. It mattered not that he was worth thousands and tipped like a trooper.

Calm down now, she told herself. We can't have the b in red finding out just how shaky she was. This had never happened before, those feelings she was having. It might have been her apoplexies for all she knew. She did know she felt as if she was turning green beneath her skirt.

Everyone hushed, the lights turned upon the door. Even the b in red had stopped her undulations, her eyes following the light. Through the door walked the most handsome man on earth. He was tall. He was dark. Missy Star could see his eyes in the light, they were blue, a bright blue!

Right to Missy Star he walked. His head moved with the motion of her small lithe body doing her dance. It dipped and hopped when she dipped and hopped doing her leaps. On to the pole she went, enticingly as was her usual. To him she was the Queen! He moved closer to the stage and watched. Up, up, and around, and around. She had beautiful long legs thrusting from her shapely body. Oh, O, O, . . .

Acrostic: Ice Skating

ICE SKATING

I was breezing along
Chill a popular song
Evening skate on the ice

Skate a while with my date
Kiss her six seven eight
And hope she'll kiss me twice
Then it all went so wrong
I'm hearing my new song
New found friend she's so nice
Gone my date--I care less

One Single Impression: Spider Webs

Her Spider Webs

cold dew drops hanging
sad useless hunting device
must eat her own web

- - - - - - -

waiting and crying
vibrations up sticky line
caught in her own web

- - - - - - -

six days sticky silk
butterfly caught in the orb
dine from her own web

- - - - - - -

weaker each new day
carries her young--mother's pride
gifting her own web

One Single Impression: Lighthouse (an acrostic)

LIGHTHOUSE
...(an acrostic)

Light shines brightly
Incandescent
Guide for sailors
Heralds the shore
Times of gone by
Home for keeper
O lonely place
Untold beauty
Seen so seldom
Enjoyable

Acrostic: Out House

[large picture] [super sized]

OUT HOUSE

Outdoor privy sitting
Under the oak
Tree's shelter; peeing.

How I like
Our freedom there
Under the stars,
Sharing splashes with
Everyone around.

Anniversary Post Newsletter — MidWeek Blues — What is this thing?

Note, please don't forget to enter Adi's contest.
Click here. You have until Next Sunday.
You are permitted to change or update your answers.

Today is the start of my fifth year of blogging. I have just completed four full years.

I will do three things in this post. First I need to do a MidWeek Blues picture. Second will be a statistical update. This will be followed by a short evaluation of areas of which I am concerned. Some will affect you, dear reader.

MidWeek Blues:
What is it?
Hints: (1) Don't kick it, you'll hurt your foot (2)
It isn't a rock or stone

Answers will be given, and shown on my next week's MidWeek Blues post.

Statistics:
Total Posts: 2616 (for the eight blogs)
Total Hits: 83,512 (many are from Google, my priority there is fairly decent) Total Comments: 12,386 (Yahoo is not cooperating for me to tell you how many are my own, I have left several.)
YouTube Viewers: 19,492 (views for my 20 YouTube videos)
Adi is the most popular, on posts and comments and on YouTube

Active Blogs & YouTube
Jim's Little Blog (1439 posts, 56,047 hits)
Jim's Little Photo and Poem Place (566 posts, 12,603 hits)
Ask Dr. Jim (blog) (80 posts, 8,356 hits)
Jim1Jim1 (YouTube) (20 videos, 19,492 views)

Areas of concern

Friend list: I need to update my friends lists. I have three categories which are '... Friends ...', 'Haven't Heard From These Lately', and 'The Bone Yard'.
Very soon I will move a bunch to the lower two categories (The Bone Yard has invisible links) and add some new Friends.

Mrs. Jim annual performance evaluation: Time is now. She has been an excellent wife but these things still need to be done. If she reads it she might find out how good I think she is. (I hold her on a pedestal.)

Consolidation: Every year I think about having just one blog. Right now basically I have the three active ones and it seems to be working.

Neglected areas:
1. Ask Dr. Jim (blog) needs to be updated at least once a week. It hasn't been nearly that often lately.
2. Jim1Jim1 (YouTube) needs some new videos. Most times I make them pertinent to a current blog post.

A minor concern: People believe everything that I say. Not all my poems are true. Please don't believe every word I write there as gospel, some is poetic fiction.

If you want to post a MidWeek Blues picture, go get directions from Rebecca by clicking on the logo picture on the right. She has a Mr. Linky and good directions . Just do what I did. .
Or do less. All she requires is a BLUE PICTURE, you don't have to write.
