Sort of: a PAD Chapbook Challenge: Day 3

.
Sort of
Sort of a slow day, he could tell
he stayed in bed till almost nine
coffee in the pot getting stale
was still hot he teased his senses

Awake enough to eat a bite
what would it be? a hard boiled egg
couple pieces leftover ham
and half a slice of toast with jam

Glass of juice completed his meal
sort of

The above is a better...........
breakfast that he could
.........make on a better day...........

I wrote this for a 2011 November PAD Chapbook Challenge: Day 3 prompt, to write a poem beginning “sort of”. But the site below did not like my cookies so I did not register my poem with them. Their loss, perhaps.http://www.writersdigest.com/editor-blogs/poetic-asides/poetry-prompts/2011-november-pad-chapbook-challenge-day-3

On July 18, 2017, I linked this ditty in recognition their sixth year anniversary to "The Imaginary Garden with Real Toads", http://withrealtoads.blogspot.com/2017/07/the-tuesday-platform_18.html

Acrostic: Fright

.
.
F R I G H T
(Halloween)

Frightful night is here
Rattling bones scare the boys
Igor shrieks girls scream
Ghosts and ghouls galore
Hades' witches in black
Travelling on their brooms

One Single Impression: Sunset (an acrostic poem)

.

At Sunset:
a checklist

Sun is brilliantly setting
Under the clouds growing dark
Night is not far away
Splendor over the water
Evening formally announced
Today has been secured
