One Single Impression: Wrong

.

Wrong:
a not very good way to start his long day

Charley started off wrong the other day
He got up on the wrong side of the bed
That made his wife cranky all of the day
Should have climbed back in bed to get ahead

Dressing next he would put on the wrong shoes
That of course made his feet to hurt all day
Wrong frozen meal for breakfast he would choose
Poor Charley had chicken and rice at eight

Charley went to work but caught the wrong bus
Poor excuse that—made him an hour late
Who'd a guessed—the boss put on such a fuss
Boys' chicken and rice was to catch the blame

Day's end found Charley's work undone—he stayed
The boss again put on another fuss
Ten minutes you're out of here—Charley prayed
Trouble comes in droves now he'll blame his bus

He put away his tools and washed his hands
He'd not delay and miss those minutes ten
Homeward bound saw Charley making his plans
Was his wife still madder than a wet hen?

Charley caught his bus but from the wrong line
Worried he'd catch the Dickens from his wife
He did soon as cracking the door this time

I'll let you finish—poor guy what a life

One Single Impression: Smile

Smile: the flirt

You smile—makes me warm all over
a warm I am liked kinda feel
I return your smile who wouldn't
leaves me gushing hope you won't know
.
Don't get your hopes wide awakened
it started there I smile to all
you aren't my favorite no way
now you're blushing please somewhere go

One Single Impression: Soul

.
Soul

Said myself to My Soul,
"Soul, whereforth goes thou?"
My Soul replied, "don't act so holy,
I know you very well."
"O well," I said learily,
then wishing to myself this time,
"why did I ask?"

That wasn't the end of this exchange
and soon My Soul was talking again.
"Whither thou goest I will go.
There is no other path."

One Single Impression: Invincible

.
Invincible

Invincible; knew not the word
young in age knew not harm

Invincible; sturdy's the game
youthful ambitions soared

Invincible; cried 'never fear'
peers were saying it too

Invincible; no longer fit
encounter with the bad

Invincible; oblivious
to ills perils abound

Invincibility's now gone
old age has taken toll
